Quilter's Dream

Imagine meeting Yvonne Porcella at Victoria's party!  And what's more, hearing about her latest techniques using Misty Fuse with silks!!  And even more, seeing photos of her sixteen works-in-progress on her smartphone!!!  Pinch me....I must be dreaming.

I have been a fan of this remarkable woman ever since I saw her Kimono quilts years ago.  I cannot possibly do her work justice, so I urge you go to her new website www.yvonneporcella.com.

A strong supporter of Quilt Alliance, Yvonne has made these two lovelies  to be auctioned later this year.   Lucky person who gets these...

Slow But Sure

I hear ya!   It's not a race;  it's a journey to enjoy!  My second block was a breeze.

I am loving this claret and cream so much that I know this will grow into one of my favorite quilts........

....eventually.

Friday the 13th?

How else can I explain this?  I have been quilting for decades and ought to know better by now!

I am sewing along with Victoria, but will never catch up at this rate.  See her progress on her blog here.

                                                        10 minutes later ...
                                        I LOVE THIS BLOCK!!!

Guess Who??

I was happy to see my Flying geese again in her online bee quilt...   and to see her brand new design (above right)

...at her amazing trunk show for the Evening Star Quilt Guild, sharing her expertise in long arm quilting.  Covering choice of design, thread, batting and much more...  Machine paper piecing technique will be her class today...

This incredible quilt will give you a clue...she is just as dynamic as her colors...

Yes, it is the Amazing Jackie Kunkel, formerly a professional longarmer, and now spreading her wealth of experience  everywhere she goes.  If she comes to your area, don't miss her!

Counting Down

123 hexies here, most are sewed down for this final week of Monday Morning Star Count at Jessica's blog.   They look so good on my dining room table that I may change my mind yet again and sew the strips together for a table runner.  My china is blue and white so that closes the deal!  Miss Piggy is smiling, too...probably glad to be on the table and not on a platter.
