Old Love

I made this little heart pillow in my very first applique class many, many years ago...long before back basting, fusing, freezer paper, templar, etc.  Except for the ruffle, it was all hand stitched and needle-turned, which is still my preferred method.  You never really get over your first love!

  1. Some things never change - beautiful workmanship - then, as now! Love that you kept your first piece , mine is long gone.

    1. I have an attic full of quilts that I cannot part with...too many good memories. Your Flying Geese quilt is still hanging in my sewing room and will be returned after I am gone, if you want. Your work is amazing!

    2. Oh that is sweet, thanks Helen! Any chance you'll be at QuiltCon? I'll be there - my #1 daughter lives in Austin now, so we planned a visit to coincide. Would be fun to meet someday!

    3. Sorry, not going to QuiltCon, but hope our paths will cross one day soon!

  2. I no longer have my first piece, too many moves requiring ruthlessness when packing. It certainly wasn't as lovely as yours, so not too upset!
