Monday Morning Comment

Last week "Pretty little things" comment included a question about how I applique my hexies.  I use Jessica's paper clip method when I baste, which makes it easy to remove the papers.  Then I trim away the excess fabric.

I hide my knot inside the seam allowance and make my little applique stitches around the pinned in place hexie.  It's a good idea to bury the thread tail on the back when finishing, so that it will not shadow through the white background later.

  1. Absolutely beautiful hand stitching. Thanks for sharing your method.

  2. Thank you very much for this post, it really helps me get along with my work!

  3. Wow I never saw it done this way before with the paper removed before stitching.
Lovely little applique stitches, this quilt is going to be so beautiful. It will last forever!

    Happy Sewing

  4. I love your stitching and thank you for the tutorial! I know I will use it in the future. Beautiful work :)
