My Indigo Hexies are still on track, but I have been tempted to take another side trip into the land of silk ribbon embroidery. I was so dazzled by my friend Kim's artistry in this little fan block that I decided to take a class at City Quilter from favorite teacher Judy Doenias. I learned many tricks that aren't available in most books, so I am off and running (in my rocking chair) with these lovely stitches. I will post a photo when I have mastered the technique.
I have also been intrigued by silk ribbon embroidery. This piece is beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing yours!
ReplyDeleteI too look forward to seeing what you do with this!
ReplyDeleteYou're on your way! Wish I had some time to break out the ribbon and stitch with you. I love the luster and the texture from the silk---it also fills up the space faster :)
ReplyDeleteNot as easy as it looks, but simply gorgeous when done well!!
