We swapped HST's in my Needle Arts group at the library. So much fun to arrange the great variety of batiks in this Hanging Diamonds pattern...
I stitched them up today and was amazed how much smaller they became. The 2 1/2" HSTs shrank to 2" and I think lost some of their charm. What do you think?
No lost charm, you just need more!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I will keep going...
DeleteI second Smazoochie - make more, but I have to say I do like the look of the slightly larger triangles. Lovely and colourful - love batiks.
ReplyDeleteI am loving these batik colours, too.
DeleteI like my triangles to be bigger too, Helen. I agree that they lose something in the tininess factor which is lovely and present when they are larger. Twenty percent of their real estate is lost in stitching them up at that size and 20% is a lot.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to design a baby quilt for my sister's dog groomer and HSTs keep popping into my head--may wind up going that route myself here shortly.
I think I am going to make another HST quilt in vintage fabrics next. So easy and versatile. Good luck with your baby quilt!
DeleteI actually like them more the way they turned out.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura. So reassured to hear this...
DeleteI think they look great sewn up! fun fabrics
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear this from you, Barb!
Deletethey look great........I agree, more! more! And more Helen :) It's good to see what you're working on!
ReplyDeleteOkay...I'll have another "Forever" quilt, I guess. Still sewing postage stamps here, too.
DeleteBatiks are my favorite! Looking good sewn together, I happen to like them smaller.
ReplyDeleteI'd really love a small piece of your red batik, Christa.
Deleteadorable.
