I finished my 15 Minutes Play color challenge blocks and am ready for the next step. How do I set these? I had thought of joining the blocks and doing some fancy gold embroidery in the black spaces, in a Victorian mode... or adding some more splashes of the challenge colors as cornerstones.... or offsetting the blocks to create black zigzags. Back to the design board...(I welcome ideas)
I think it needs some secondary design in the blocks -- maybe a gold corner in each one to create smaller diamonds between the coloured blocks. or a bright sashing? good for you for sticking with this challenge -- I jumped ship early on.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really cool as-is to me. But I'm sure you'll figure out something wonderful.
ReplyDeletehow about making a string pieced sashing out of the bright fabrics? or even just squares of all the brights? I bet you will come up with something that will make you happy

I love all your blocks and look forward to seeing what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Nifty Quilts - I think it looks very, very good as it is, and doesn't need fussed up. The squares glow against the black and are interesting in themselves - add a black border and it's done!
ReplyDeleteIs it talking to you yet?
ReplyDeleteYou have some great ideas you just have to see
what the quilt wants?
The blocks look really nice Helen :0)
Happy Sewing
I concur with Kathy and add the gold embroider. That would be stunning.
