Something Completely Different

Am trying a different arrangement for my tumbling blocks.  I want to make a Strippy quilt out of my husband's wool suits and my friend's silk ties.  I English paper pieced the blocks and am appliqueing them now.  Lots of hand sewing, but I am loving it so far...

  1. This is looking interesting Helen, looking forward to seeing the finished quilt - did you have to use a fusible interfacing on the silk ties?

    1. Yes, I used very lightweight interfacing to stabilize all those slippery silks.

  4. Ooh, this looks awesome! Your design has a lovely modern effect, the silks just glow against the soft grey. Nice!
