Faded Glory

"Stars & Stipes Forever" one year ago.

Today

After hanging on my front door all year, it has faded into mellower tones.  The elements have
taken a toll, but it still waves!

  3. Boy, that sure shows the effects of light on our quilts. I do like it faded just as well. Happy 4th to you and yours!

    2. Kinda like *our* patinas, right ?~! We grow into our faces and apply the "lines of passage": laugh wrinkles, pain creases, sorrow furrows... They all live on our visage telling the world a bit of our story without needing words.

  5. Bright colors or faded, still stands for freedom. Long may she wave! Happy 4th!

  6. I really like both versions. Interesting how very much the reds faded. I'm glad you included the pencil to show scale - at first I'd pictured it much bigger. Happy Fourth of July!
