Two Down and ??? To Go

Finished my second strip this week, and I am really getting anxious to do more.  Seldom plan my quilts in advance,  because they usually morph into something else.  But in the spirit of Monday Morning Star Count at Jessica's blog, I have come up with some tentative numbers for goal.  If I make the quilt 45"x 65", I will need 7 strips of 18 hexies and 6 strips of 17 hexies for a total of 13 strips and 228 hexies.  I have completed 2 strips of 35 hexies, so I have 11 strips of 193 hexies to go.  Whew!  I HATE MATH!

I would much rather be sewing all these little lovelies down.  Can hardly wait to see where M. Piggy will land...

  3. I'm with you about trying to figure out the math. I really like this! I'd like it even if it was another color, but blue makes it so appealing! Are you stitching the hexagons to the strips by hand or machine?

  4. Great layout idea! I'm sure it will look fabulous as a quilt. Do you already have plans on how to quilt it?

  5. Just start to piecing hexies and in no time you will have enough to finish your quilt. Your layout is really lovely and unusual as Pretty Little things said.

  6. Great! In my mind, I imagine these as strips all the way around the walls of the (my...) sitting room! But it will probably make more sense as a quilt. Wonderful layout. Keep going, it's such fun to see your progress. And thank you for your kind comments on my efforts. JJ
